WaveTeq Arrives in Africa
WaveTeq working with systems integrator North West Technlogies of Edmonton, Alberta Canada are bringing broadband services to Madagascar, an African island 700 kilometers east of Mozambique. The project is a new mine site with 14,000 workers where previously the was no communications.

By using a mixture of communications technologies that include high speed satllite links, Cisco networking and telephony equipment along side WaveTeq's ShadowMaster intelligent repeater products North West Technologies is able to complete an end to end solution.

The project includes connecting a number of processing plants, worker camps, administration offices anda new sea-port. Many of these sites are several kilometres from each other. By using the ShadowMaster intelligent repeater to create both the point-to-point connections and the local distribution, North West Technologies was able to work with a single wireless provider for all its needs.

"WaveTeq had what we needed to link each of these remote locations together as well as do the local distribution all in one product" says Dean Colpitts, President of North West Technologies. "This is a large project and we needed partners that were experts in what they do."

WaveTeq is pleased to workalong side of Network Operators, VARs and System Integrators such as North West Technologies. WaveTeq would like to extend an invitation to invite interested parties to join them at the Rural Telecon 2007 and the ISPCON 2007 in San Jose this October 14-18, 2007.
